Beaucastel and Sena releases kick-start the week

This week got underway with two new 2015 releases, Sena and Beucastel, Hommage J Perrin.

Seña 2015 was released at €78 per bottle ex-negociant, up 6.8% on the 2014 release (€73). It is being offered by the international trade at £960 per 12×75, an increase of 15.7% on the 2014 release price of £830. The wine was scored 96 points by The Wine Advocate, but Liv-ex notes that the 2013 vintage scored the same and is currently available for £750 – 21.9% cheaper than this week’s release.

Beaucastel, Hommage J Perrin 2015 has been released at €235 per bottle ex-negociant, up 9.3% on the 2014 release (€215). It is being offered by the international trade at £2,960 per 12×75, an increase of 20.8% on the 2014 in sterling terms (£2,450).

The wine, which was awarded 97-99 points by The Wine Advocate, places just above Liv-ex’s ‘fair value’ trend line. As such, buyers might also consider the 99-point 2012, which has three more years in bottle and is available for 10.5% less than the 2015.
