‘Legendary’ 100-point Verite released

Sonoma Valley estate Verite has released three 2014 wines: Desir, Joie and Muse. Each went on the market at €210 per bottle ex-negociant, and are being offered by the international trade at £3,600 per 12×75.

All three have received impressive critic scores. Robert Parker gave Muse (which he described as 'legendary') a perfect 100 points, with Desir and Joie getting 98 and 97+ points respectively. All three are a good representation of California’s revered 2014 vintage, on which Parker wrote: “I thought [2014] was a very good to excellent vintage when tasting from barrel, but I now have to rate it … as another superlative year based on how the wines showed from bottle.”

The 2014 release price puts the Verite Trio above all other recent vintages on the market, with only Muse 2009 commanding a higher price. As Liv-ex notes, buyers seeking value might therefore consider one of Verite’s eleven other 100-point wines which are on offer for a lower price point.
