The event was a sell-out, despite the fact that this chalk and cheese combination is loved by some, and loathed by others.

The 2013 vendange harvest has started in France, with the Roussillon region beginning to pick this season's grapes on Monday. The Roussillon region is generally first, however the start date this year is 10-15 days later than normal, due to a cool spring.

Bordeaux vineyards have been devastated by a 10-minute storm that happened last Friday evening.

The Bordelais barely had time to gather their thoughts following the severe storms that hit the country just weeks ago, when hailstones the size of “ping-pong balls” pelted down affecting an area in the eastern Gironde 40 to 50 kilometres long and 10 kilometres wide.
